A brand is like an iceberg

Before your logo, before any marketing/everything at the tip of the iceberg that your customers see, you need to lay a solid foundation below.

“Your brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.” Jeff Bezos

“A brand is a person’s gut feeling about a product or service…” Marty Neumeier

What do your customers say about your product or service? What is their gut feeling about what you offer?

You can have the best product or service in the world but if you don’t create an emotional connection with your customers, they will not buy.  Your product needs to speak directly to the customer, person (brand) to person (customer). You need a strong personality and message. You need a Brand Story.

You begin with:

  • deciding what only you offer and your competitors don’t
  • clarifying your purpose, and what you value as a business
  • defining who your customers are, what they value, and the emotional connection they will have to your product

When these three are aligned, you have a consistent Brand Story, a  framework to connect and engage with your customers and grow your business.
